Ken Kanouse is an attorney, educator, and writer. In addition, he has taught business and employment law at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and in law school. Ken also served as the Diversity Director for Western State University, College of Law.  

As a public school teacher, Ken taught science in the Anaheim Union High School District for over 20 years. In that capacity, Ken led the district’s integration of Action Civics with the Next Generation Science Standards curriculum, and served as the district’s Soapbox Speech coach.

Ken is currently employed as Mikva’s California Partners Site Director, working with school districts implementing the Issues to Action curriculum. In this role, he is inspired by the opportunity to collaborate with teachers and students to achieve Mikva’s vision of a just and equitable society. Born and raised in San Pedro, California, Ken now resides in Ventura with his wife, Cindy, who is a college professor.
