Mikva Challenge students hosted the third annual State of Chicago Youth Town Hall on Friday, August 12, 2022.
The town hall was a culminating event for members of the Citywide Youth Council, the Safety & Justice Council, Neighborhood Leadership Initiative, and Chicago Public School’s Student Advisory Council. Throughout the summer, members of each group identified the most pressing issues and inequities affecting Chicago youth and worked together to research and create policy solutions.
The town hall centers youth expertise and platforms their research and recommendations for addressing issue areas including education, juvenile justice, community safety, and community action.
