Last week we hosted a staff retreat to convene about our upcoming strategic plan. We brought together team members and board representatives from across the nation to envision and strategize Mikva Challenge’s future. It was an inspiring gathering where we shared ideas on empowering the next wave of civic leaders and transforming democracy into action.

Each year we are proud to work with Mikva teachers to help facilitate the creation of more democratic classrooms throughout the U.S. What are democratic classrooms you ask? Democratic classrooms provide students with the opportunity to actively engage in democratic processes, fostering skills where they collaborate, deliberate, communicate effectively, consider the greater good, and engage in civic dialogue. In these classrooms, students not only listen to respond but also listen with the intent to learn and comprehend.
