OUR STORY IS ABOUT TRANSFORMATION
What kind of future do we envision for our country and the next generation that will inherit it? At our core we value a strong, healthy democracy comprised of active, engaged, and informed citizens. Abner and Zoe Mikva founded Mikva Challenge in pursuit of this ideal along with the knowledge that the next generation won’t get there by simply reading civics text books or watching the news.
Our story is about inspiring youth to become deeply invested in their communities, their schools, and their peers. It’s about giving them a platform to voice their opinions and harnessing their expertise and idealism. But above all, it’s about showing them that they have the power to make a difference, and the power to change the world.
This is what democracy looks like.
