Our Annual Action Civics Showcase is the year-end celebration of youth activism and youth voice in Chicago. Hundreds of young people from schools all around Chicago present their advocacy and activism work to their peers and community leaders. We want to invite you to come witness the ways young people are analyzing power, taking on the role of being leaders on issues impacting their lives, to make a positive difference in their communities.
All student projects follow our six-step activism process that asks students to examine their communities, identify issues of importance, conduct intensive primary research about these issues, analyze power, develop strategies, and take action to make a positive impact. Our participants show an intense commitment to and sense of ownership over their schools and communities. The event also creates a sense of community among youth from different schools as they share their collective efforts.
Please join us in celebrating youth voice and youth action on Tuesday, May 23rd from 4:00-6:00pm at the Chicago Cultural Center. RSVP here: http://tinyurl.com/ACShowcaseRSVP
