At Mikva’s 12th Annual Action Civics Fair, over 300 young people from 50 Chicago Schools presented their year-long efforts to identify, address and create solutions to issues connected to sexual health, gentrification, youth employment, violence prevention, school culture and much more. The over 90 projects presented are part of Mikva’s larger Democracy in Action program. Over 200 community leaders, activists, policy-makers and teachers attended the fair. The response was overwhelming. Youth felt heard, appreciated and welcomed in the advocacy and policy-making circles, and the adults were inspired by the commitment and innovation shown by the youth.
