Like so many others, Ab inspired my husband, Mickey and me to become involved in politics, more than 40 years ago. Literally, thousands of people volunteered to work on his campaigns in return for nothing more than a promise of good government. Although Ab held clear and strong liberal views, he had the too rare ability to get along with and influence those with whom he disagreed. Ab was authentic. As he said to us, just a few weeks ago, when we last spoke to him, “I have had 90 wonderful years.” We really miss him.
