In the deepest ways, becoming part of the Mikva Challenge family my freshman year of high school changed my life. Mikva Challenge sharpened my interest in politics and gave me skills that have fueled my involvement in College Democrats and several campaigns since. It also helped me find respect for myself and other youth. The truth that “we are all experts in our own experience” gave me the confidence to speak up, to listen, and to challenge the people around me to do the same. I am forever grateful to Judge Mikva for helping to create this wonderful, inspiring, challenging space that is truly transformational.
