Ab Mikva’s patriotism, dedication, and vision changed lives. Ab was a consummate public servant who answered the call to repair the world through a lifetime of distinguished service at the highest levels of all three branches of government.
In the Congress, in the federal courts, and in the White House, Ab empowered others and uplifted his community by ensuring access to justice for all. He brought a deep understanding of the law and the legislative process to every position he held. And through the Mikva Challenge he helped found, Ab engaged and inspired thousands of young people to be leaders in our democracy.
Through his decades of service for justice and in helping young people realize the power of their own voices, Ab helped make America more American. His legacy is a beautiful gift for all who knew him. May it be a comfort to Zoe, his beloved wife, their three daughters, and their extended family that so many mourn his loss and celebrate his life during this sad time.
