Aprill Buckner previously served as the Site Director for Year Up United-Chicago, a national workforce development program. As a nonprofit leader, she has spent the last 16 years working with mission-driven organizations providing access and opportunity to historically marginalized communities. She is a master facilitator and has deep experience in developing and implementing program strategy, leading teams, and embedding DEIB practices into programmatic and operational functions.

Aprill holds firmly to the belief: “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room on earth” (Muhammad Ali), and has previously mentored with Chicago Scholars and iMentor. Currently, she serves as a board member for the (Un)Learning Space.
