Mikva Challenge’s Citywide and Neighborhood Youth Councils Councils hosted the Second Annual State of Chicago Youth Town Hall.
Wednesday, August 18, 2021
The voices of young people are valuable, visionary, and insightful. Thank you to all who joined us to be the first to hear what young people participating in Mikva Challenge programs have to say about the solutions we need in Chicago!
Throughout the summer, Mikva Challenge youth policymakers identified the most pressing issues and inequities currently affecting Chicago youth. At this second-annual town hall event, they presented their policy recommendations to ensure Chicago institutions are more equitable and responsive.
Recommendations focused on four major issue areas: health, education, juvenile justice, and community safety.
Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and provide resources to help push the youth’s recommendations forward during the upcoming year.
