Project Soapbox 2020-21

Project Soapbox 2020-21

Every year, teachers around the country use Mikva’s Project Soapbox curriculum to help their students develop and deliver a two-minute persuasive speech answering the prompt: “What is the biggest issue facing your community, & what should be done about it?”

Typically the program culminates in a citywide or regional event where young people give their speeches in front of local peers, community, and civic leaders. This year, we’ve moved all of Project Soapbox online. Although it’s not easy to replicate the inspiring feeling of our in-person events, a virtual Project Soapbox also opens up new possibilities to foster even more connection by reaching a wider audience.

Join us in watching and engaging with the powerful speeches of young people from coast to coast. Click on each location link below to listen to what youth in that part of the country are getting on their Soapbox about. (And keep checking back – we’ll add more locations throughout the year!)
